Moments of Hope

My Name is Ragebul Islam. Life was never supposed to be this way. In December 2021, I suddenly fell seriously ill. Little did I know that this would mark the beginning of a long battle for survival. By May 2022, I completely lost the ability to walk. From being an independent, self-sufficient person, I found myself entirely dependent on a wheelchair. And then came November 2023 — a heartbreak that shattered me completely. After months of physical suffering, I went through an incredibly painful divorce, leaving me alone with my little daughter and my elderly mother.

My father is no longer with us. My mother, in her old age, cries every night, pleading with Allah in her Tahajjud prayers, asking Him to save me. My daughter, so small and innocent, tries to cheer me up, feed me my medicine, and give me hugs. She is the reason I still find hope in this dark, painful time.

My Medical Struggle

I was diagnosed with Longitudinally Extensive Transverse Myelitis (LETM), a severe condition affecting my spinal cord, leaving me unable to walk. Over time, I developed Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), making my fight for life even harder.

Doctors have suggested a stem cell transplant as the only way to repair my spinal cord, but the cost is extremely high. Meanwhile, I need constant kidney treatments, follow-ups, physiotherapy, rehabilitation devices, and ongoing medication just to stay alive.

My Past: A Life of Serving Others

Before this tragedy, I was deeply involved in my community. I was a proud member of the Rotary Club, always striving to make a positive impact in the lives of others. I helped plant trees, distribute school supplies to children in need, support the elderly, provide warm clothes to those suffering in the winter, and share food with the homeless on the streets. But now, I stand broken, unable to provide for myself, desperately waiting for others to help me — the same help I once gave so freely to others.

Why I Need Your Help

I am in a position where I cannot afford the life-saving treatments I desperately need. Your support can:
